1-Guidance Session on Safety and Security by Police Officers of Gamdevi
Police Station, Mumbai. - 13th August, 2022 On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate 75 years of Independence and celebrate the glorious history of its people, culture and Achievements A Guidance Session on Safety and Security and by Police Officers of Gamdevi Police Station, Mumbai. They conveyed to the students the importance of safety while working in the virtual world. Cyber Crime and its different measures of safety and security were discussed with the students.

Guest Lecture on ‘Balanced Diet for your Immunity’on 16th September,2022 College Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2022. Resource Person for the session was Mrs. Sulakashana Mane, SVT College of Home Science.
3-On the occasion of International Women's Day on 08 March 2023, a Workshop on Awareness of Cybercrime against Women was conducted by Women Development Cell of B. M. Ruia Girls‟ College. This workshop was organized to bring awareness about cyber-crime against women. In this workshop, Inspector Mr. Sameer Lonkar and Sub-Inspector Mrs. Shweta Dhok of Mumbai Cyber Police, Crime Branch explained how cybercrime is committed through the medium of internet and social media and what precautions can be taken to prevent cyber-crime. They guided the students by providing detailed information with case studies.
2021-2022
1-Online event by National Commission for Women
Date – 31.01.2022 Motivated students to attend Honourable Prime Minister‟s online address to
the nation on 30 years of National Commission for Women, recorded their
attendance in Google form and made them write five significant words from
his speech. After the live telecast sent the YouTube link of Honourable Prime
Minister‟s online address to students who could not attend the live telecast.
2-REPORT "BE A CYBER SAATHI" and Date: 6 th March 2021
An Online Workshop on "Be a Cyber Saathi" was jointly organized by the
Student Welfare Committee and Women Development Cell in association with the
Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The Workshop was conducted on 6th March 2021,
from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., by Cyber Saathi in collaboration with Red Dot Foundation and
N.S. Nappinai through Zoom platform and around 116 participants, (87 students and 29
teachers), attended the Workshop.
The Resource Person of the Workshop was Advocate Noelle Ann Park – Advocate Bombay
High Court specializing in Cyber Laws, Criminal Law (Corporate Criminal / White Collar
Crime) & Writs and Ms. Marissa Borges, Head of Training and Program outreach, Red Dot
Foundation.
This awareness workshop focused on increasing knowledge and awareness of Cyber Safety in
digital spaces, focusing on Women and Child Safety Online to enhance security knowledge on
the cyber domain.
Advocate Noelle Ann Park spoke about society's perception towards the female gender and the
rising impact on crimes perpetuated towards women and children in the online domain. Through
various case studies and real-life incidents among women and children, she explained how the
wrong thought process has contributed to them being online victims and targets.
Advocate Noelle Ann Park explained to the students' various topics like Cyberbullying, Cyber
Stalking, Impersonation online, Child pornography, Cyber threats through online chat rooms and
online video games, Exposure to illegal and problematic content, Extortion online, Solicitation
online, etc.
Advocate Noelle Ann Park also drew an association between the role of certain movies and
social media contributing to the rise of depicting women in poor light and portraying them as
victims of female gender.
The sessions were very interactive through student polls and case studies. Information on various
laws enacted for the protection and safety of women and children were shared, which was very
useful to the students. Understanding the relevant legislations and how they can receive justice
about various crimes under different laws was also explained very well to students.
Overall, the Workshop was very informative and proved to be a needed session for the students,
mainly as many use online education modes during this Pandemic period.
2020-2021
1- Women Development cell conducted a weeklong celebration of International Women‟s
Day. The workshop was conducted between 2- 8th March 2021. The timings of the
workshop was 8.30- 10.10 am. Gender issues are an important part of Women studies and students participated in all the programs wholeheartedly.
Day1- Conducted screening of YouTube video on Gender issues and Equality
Day 2- On 3rd March 2021 conducted Group Discussion on the
following topics: Women Empowerment- Myth or Reality,
Conventional Gender Roles/ Unconventional Gender Roles
Day 3- On 4th March 2021 students presented their papers on different issues and problems
related to Women in India.
Paper Presentation Topics: Women in Politics, Representation of women in Cinema,Domestic Violence and Problem of Dowry.
Day 4 Conducted screening of a short Hindi film “Tamanna” on
“Gender Discrimination” followed by Group Discussion on 5 th March 2021
Day 5- On 6th March 2021 Conducted a workshop on „How to
overcome “Gender discrimination”. Students explained various laws, helpline numbers, and
different ways to overcome gender discrimination. Many students shared their personal
experiences that how they approached the situation when they faced Gender discrimination in
their family and outside. Students spoke about the problems of the Third Gender and the need
to change the thinking of society about the third Gender.
Day 6- On 8th March 2021 Conducted a Debate on the following
topics: Is Inter caste marriage, correct and should the legal age of marriage of girls be increased?

Self-Development workshop for students 12 pm to 2 pm in association with Rotary Club of Bombay Mid City. 22nd January 2020
1-Interactive Lecture on Polycystic Ovaries Syndrome
Dr. Laila Dave – A gynaecologist, Dr. Laila Dave, discussed with students about the symptoms
of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). She informed the students to keep an eye on these
symptoms for themselves and their women family members. Students learnt that, case of
symptoms, it is advisable to consult a medical professional so that further problems of PCOS can
be prevented.
2-Interactive Lecture on Women and Finance
Mr. AG Hemang Jangla spoke to students about importance of financial literacy to women. He
discussed of risk analysis and decision making about financial investments on the basis of
personal financial risk analysis as well as goal setting for the return on investments.
3-Interactive Lecture on Legal Awareness
Advocate Ms. Ujwala Karandekar, emphasised on legislation for women in India. She discussed
about the available personal law, property rights and legislation about women‟s safety in India.
She mentioned about the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act. Adv. Ujjwala also brought to the
notice of the audience various difficulties faced by women victims in asserting about their rights.
She also mentioned the mal-practices in implementation of legislation for women‟s rights, in a
objective manner.
4-Interactive Lecture on Self- Defence Awareness
Madam Smita Dave guided students about Self Defence. She emphasised on a need to bring out in our attitude that as women we are responsible and have to learn to be capable of our own
defence. She urged the students to have the right attitude towards self-image, self-confidence and
assertiveness. Her interactive gave students a practical understanding of assertiveness and management of the situation of a possible unsafe situation.
A Haemoglobin check-up camp was organised on 14th November, 2019. Total 81 students benefitted by the camp. The camp was organised in association with “Family Planning association of India (FPA INDIA), Mumbai branch” Mumbai.
International Women’s Day
A workshop on „Gender discrimination‟ was organised on 2nd March, 2020. All the students presented their views on the topic. Many students shared their personal experiences at home and outside home about gender discrimination.
A workshop on „Ways to overcome gender discrimination‟ on 3rd March, 2020 was organised. Students explained various laws, helpline numbers and different ways to overcome gender discrimination. Many students shared their personal experience that how they approached the situation when they faced gender discrimination. Students spoke about different social, mental and emotional problems faced by Third Gender.
A power point presentation on „Constitutional provisions in favour of Dalit women‟ on organised on 4th March, 2020. Students presented their paper on different issues related to the topic.
A Group discussion on “Domestic violence in India - Causes and Solutions” was organised on 5th March, 2020.
A guest lecture was organized in association with “Family Planning association of India (FPA INDIA), Mumbai branch” Mumbai on “Sexual reproductive health” on 15th November, 2019. Students of various departments attended the lecture.

1-Women and Social Media
Attended the public discourse on Women and Social Media organized by YWCA of Bombay on 1 December, 2018 at YWCA, Fort. The topics discussed were on #Me Too calls out toxic work spaces for women, Dealing with sexist online trolling.
2-Mission Sahasi, Workshop on Self-defense, on 19 January, 2019
The students participated in the Mission Sahasi, Self Defense Programme organized by ABVP on 19 January, 2019 in the college auditorium. The students learnt various techniques of Self-Defense. The students actively participated and pledged to be strong women and fight for their own rights and take to task anyone who disrespects women.
3-International Women’s Day
On the occasion of International Women‟s Day on 8 th March, 2019, a guest lecture on Women‟s Movement in India by Ms. Ujjawala Mhatre was organized for the students. She spoke about the history of social reform movement which focused on practices like female infanticide, child marriage, sati, widow remarriage, purdah, gender inequality, etc. She also enlightened the students about the great Indian reformers who were instrumental in bringing about a change in society and who strived to achieve Women‟s Rights like Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Tarabai Shinde, Radhabai Kamble, etc. She also spoke about the autonomous Women‟s Movement, Anti Rape Movement, #Me Too Movement, etc. A short video on women empowerment was shown to the students followed by discussions.
4-Rally on awareness of Menstrual Hygiene on International Women’s Day
The Studnets participated in the Rally on Female Sanitary and Sanitation awareness on International Women‟s Day on 8th March, 2019. The Run4Nine with Padman Akshay Kumar, Prayas, A Walk for a Cause, to support Menstrual Hygiene was organized by JCI, Marine Lines. The Rally commenced from St.Xavier‟s High School and ended at Karnataka Sports Association.
